Friday, October 16th: Today’s project was revising my CV to make sure it is completely up-to-date. I need to update the section on festivals that I’ve attended and participated in. That will take a lot of research, but luckily I save all of my program books so I’ll be able to figure it out. This morning my second formal dress arrived for my photo session. It fits really well, but I’ll need to schedule some alterations for length of course. Short people problems…
Saturday, October 17th: I’m a regular on Facebook, but that’s about as far as I go when it comes to social media. In order to get with the times, I created an Instagram account today and added my first photo. Welcome to the 21st century, Angela!
Sunday, October 18th: I continued my quest into the world of social networking by creating a twitter account. I’ll need to sit with a friend to get the 411 before I send my first tweet. Brooke, can you teach me about tweets and hashtags?!?
Monday, October 19th-Friday, October 23rd: I’ve received a couple more responses this week with teaching testimonials, so I added those to all of my other website materials in preparation for the launch of the site. I’ve spent a lot of time this week researching different website design sites, such as web.com, Wix, Weebly, Google Sites, Go Daddy, WordPress, Squarespace, etc. I’m having a really hard time finding a sleek and simple design without a lot of bells and whistles, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to two choices. There is a template on Weebly that I really like for its simplicity and clean design. My concern is that it doesn’t leave a lot of room for images. (http://www.weebly.com/themes/) Another template that I really like is on Wix, which will allow me to use larger images, but the template looks like it’s going to be more complicated to use. I guess I won’t really know until I attempt to build the site!
