Eating healthy, whether you are eating a clean pescetarian, vegetarian, vegan or a whole foods diet, can be a major challenge. Dairy-free, soy-free and/or gluten-free diets are not just a trends for many, but necessities for quality of life for most. These lifestyle changes test our self-control and patience, and require a lot of planning and preparation. When “life happens” sometimes those plans go right out the window. Fast food becomes a thing of the past and almost an impossibility. Eating out, on the other hand, is possible if you’ve done a little bit of research. We are fortunate enough to live in a vibrant city that offers amazing cuisine that is fresh, local and meeting these dietary needs. Here is a short list of Columbus restaurants that offer vegan menu items and/or vegan substitutes:
Aladdin’s Eatery
Alchemy Juice Bar + Cafe
Banana Leaf Restaurant
Cafe Istanbul
Da Levee
Dirty Franks Hot Dog Palace
Explorer’s Club
Katalina’s
Loving Hut
Melt
Northstar Cafe
Pattycake Bakery
Piada
Portia’s Cafe
Red Hook Grill
Strongwater Food and Spirits
Various Indian, Thai and Mediterranean restaurants throughout the city
Whole World Natural Bakery and Restaurant
Whole Foods
Zpizza
I am happy to report that we have Aladdin’s Eatery, Cafe Istanbul and Piada right here in Bexley! Are you just as surprised as I was to see that Melt and Dirty Franks made this list?!? Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to try all of these places yet, but I look forward visiting a few throughout the month and sharing the experience with all of you!
