The Body Is Your Temple

Sunday, March 22nd: After brunch at Northstar with Joe, I sent him off to Trader Joe’s with a grocery list to do our weekly shopping while I headed over to Lululemon for another great yoga class with Brooke. This class was the best yet and I 100% attribute that to the instructor. As crazy as this sounds she had the perfect voice for yoga instruction and I felt like she was staring into my soul! The flow of the class was exactly what I needed to de-stress, focus and mentally prepare for another week. At one point in the class she had us balancing in some really difficult poses and was all, “you try so hard to stay organized and on top of things, but sometimes life throws you curveballs and you need to learn how to quickly react and rebalance, etc.” For those of you who are reading this, you know that I plan out my days to the minute and find satisfaction in checking items off of my to-do list. However, the downside to that is when “life” happens and someone needs me, I have a really hard time derailing from my plan in order to come to their rescue and that was the story of last week. As luck would have it, today’s YogaQuote couldn’t be more perfect.

Monday, March 23rd: Joe and I both woke up early, and I managed to talk him into doing a little yoga with me this morning. We used the DVD Livingroom Yoga and as you can imagine, it couldn’t compete with yesterday’s class. I found myself getting annoyed with the instructor’s voice and found the movements to be extremely choppy and lacking flow. Now I’m off to prepare tonight’s dinner, practice, go to a doctor’s appointment and then I’m off to work. I hope you enjoy today’s YogaQuote.

Tuesday, March 24th: This morning after preparing tonight’s dinner (Vegetarian tacos from our Trader Joe’s cookbook) and doing a load of laundry, I completed the DVD workout we started yesterday, Livingroom Yoga. The workout was okay, but it moves at a pretty slow pace and is meant for someone with little to no yoga experience. Now I’m off to practice my flute and then head into work to teach flute! Enjoy today’s YogaQuote.

Wednesday, March 25th: Waking up this morning was an absolute struggle, but I managed to eventually peel myself away from our cozy bed and get dressed for another morning of yoga. Today I tried the DVD, Yogalosophy by Mandy Ingber, who is Jennifer Aniston’s yoga instructor. Today’s workout focused on toning and sculpting using yoga poses. As I relaxed into downward facing dog, I opened my eyes to find Stanzi underneath in downward facing kitty. 😉 I couldn’t resist sharing, so I asked Joe to grab my phone to sneek a quick pic. After my workout, I headed into the kitchen to prep tonight’s dinner. (White Lightening Chili from our Trader Joe’s cookbook) Now I’m off to get ready and practice before heading into MTMS. Happy Birthday, Brooke Ignet Hocker! I hope you have a day as wonderful as you are, and I give you total permission to take a couple seconds to complain about turning 33 today! LOL We might be 33, but we are still fabulous! 😉 Enjoy today’s YogaQuote.
